Man suspected of murder escapes custody in Atlanta airport

A murder suspect escaped from police custody while at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, authorities said.

The Atlanta Police Department said Jsaan Carlos Strover, 20, escaped from police custody Thursday morning, ABC News reported. He was handcuffed and was not wearing shoes. 

He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and jeans. He is 6 foot 3 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds and has tattoos on his arms and neck.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Strover was last seen running into the woods near Global Gateway Connector.

Authorities said Strover was being extradited to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona, where he is wanted on charges of first-degree murder, attempt to commit first-degree murder and aggravated assault, the Journal-Constitution reports.

Atlanta police told The Hill Thursday afternoon that they were still searching for the suspect.
