Eleven people were injured, two critically, when a restaurant deck collapsed in Tennessee this weekend.

The Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security confirmed in a statement on Facebook on Saturday that an elevated deck at Zoi’s Restaurant at Harbor Lights Marina in Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., collapsed.

Authorities received a call on Saturday at 4 p.m. that more than 40 people had fallen from the deck. A birthday party was taking place at the time of the collapse, according to officials.

Eleven patients were taken to the hospital from the scene, including two patients with critical injuries and nine who were not in critical condition.

Sondra Teligades, one of the people injured in the incident, said she has returned home after being treated for a concussion and rib contusions, WTVC reported. She said she heard a crack before falling approximately two stories.

The Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security said that officials will inspect the deck to find the cause of the collapse.

The individuals at the birthday party were taking a group photo at the time of the collapse, according to reports.

Soddy-Daisy is located in southeast Tennessee, approximately 16 miles from Chattanooga.
