New York is offering 50 college scholarships to teenagers in the state who get vaccinated against COVID-19 in an effort to boost vaccination rates.

Parents with children ages 12 to 17 who get vaccinated can enter their child to win a four-year scholarship to a state college or university.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) on Wednesday announced the initiativecalled “Get a Shot to Make Your Future,” on Twitter.

Fifty winners will be picked in five random drawings.

New York follows other states such as Oregon and Ohio in using a lottery to incentive residents to get vaccinated.
