GOP lawmaker deletes tweet that appeared to mistakenly reveal email password

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) deleted a tweet that appeared to inadvertently reveal his email password, HuffPost reported Monday.

Brooks was served with a lawsuit brought by Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) that accused him and other GOP allies of playing a role in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol. 

Brooks tweeted on Sunday about his wife being served at their home, accusing Swalwell’s team of trespassing. In a tweet that was later deleted, HuffPost reported, Brooks included a picture of his entire computer monitor and a sticky note that contained a PIN number and the password to what is believed to be his Gmail account.  

According to the news outlet, it took 20 hours for Brooks to delete the tweet and replace it with an updated version of a photo without the sticky note visible.
