Disney World loosening outdoor mask requirements
Disney World is loosening its outdoor mask requirements, leaving it up to customers whether they want to wear a mask in most outdoor areas of the park.
Starting Aug. 19, masks will no longer be required in outdoor attractions, queues and theaters at Walt Disney World Resort, WDW News Today reported.
Disney initially loosened its outdoor mask requirement in May, but only in outdoor common areas. Masks still had to be worn on rides and other outdoor sections of the park.
Disney is still keeping its requirement for customers to wear masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status.
Back in June, fully vaccinated individuals did not have to wear a mask inside most areas of the park, including indoor attractions.
The company changed course when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said fully vaccinated individuals should wear masks in areas where there are high transmission rates of the coronavirus.
Florida, along with many other states, has seen increases in COVID-19 cases from the delta variant.
The Hill has reached out to Disney World for comment.
