Psaki: Biden doesn’t want Kabul attack perpetrators ‘to live on the Earth anymore’

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that President Biden does not want those responsible for the deadly attack in Kabul, Afghanistan to “live on the Earth anymore.”

Psaki on Friday was asked to clarify the president’s comments from Thursday, when he responded to the attack claimed by the terrorist group ISIS-K by saying “we will hunt you down.”

“I think he made clear yesterday that he did not want them to live on the Earth anymore,” Psaki said.

Biden, hours after 13 U.S. service members were killed in the suicide bombing in Kabul, said the U.S. would target facilities of ISIS-K “at the place we choose, in a moment of our choosing.”

“We will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay,” Biden said, addressing those responsible for the bombings.

Psaki has said she did not believe additional congressional authorization would be required for Biden to go after the terrorists involved in the Kabul attack after the president vowed to strike back.

National security officials warned Biden on Friday that another terrorist attack in Kabul is “likely” while the U.S. military is completing its mission in Afghanistan.

Psaki was also asked how the administration will prevent retaliatory action against those behind the attack from becoming an open-ended mission.

“I will tell you that we are consistently looking and tracing down and hunting terrorists around the world where they are. This is going to be a part of that effort,” Psaki said.
