Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena is requiring fans to be vaccinated and wear masks while attending Kraken games, events and concerts.

The NHL team in a news release on Tuesday shared that fans over the age of 12 will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated. Those who are unable to be vaccinated for approved reasons must test negative for COVID-19 within 48 hours of the event.

The arena will also implement a strict mask mandate, requiring fans to wear them during the duration of the event unless they are eating or drinking.

Seattle Kraken CEO Tod Leiweke said in a statement to The Seattle Times that the organization is poised to open its new arena in an environment that is safe for fans, players, staff members and artists.

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) brought back prior COVID-19 restrictions last month due to the rapid spread of the highly contagious delta variant across the nation, according to The Seattle Times.

The arena is also requiring its employees to be fully vaccinated against the virus, according to the news release.
