Robby Soave, senior editor at Reason, said liberals should be “concerned” that the ACLU changed a quote from the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg to use gender-neutral language.
“Even if you are the most, like totally pro everything the left thinks about trans issues, even if you’re on board with all of it, you should be concerned about this level of changing language,” Soave said during a Thursday appearance on Hill.TV’s “Rising.”
Soave’s comments come after the ACLU tweeted a quote from Ginsburg about abortion and gender equality on the anniversary of her death, but changed the message to use gender-neutral language.
Instead of writing “woman’s life” and “her own choices,” the ACLU wrote a “person’s life” and “their own choices,” in addition to swapping pronouns in other areas.

Anthony Romero, the executive director of the ACLU later told The New York Times that the ground altered Ginsburg’s quote, but did say he “would like to believe” that the late justice would “encourage us to evolve our language to encompass a broader vision of gender, identity and sexuality” if she were alive today.
Soave said there the incident “should not sit well with anyone.”
“There’s something Soviet about this, about you’re erasing people from pictures, that just should not sit right with anyone,” he said.
