First lady Jill Biden is scheduled to tape segments for Sesame Street on Wednesday.

In a statement on Tuesday, the White House said Biden would be taping segments for the children’s show and for Sesame Workshop’s “social impact and military family initiatives.” Sesame Workshop is the nonprofit organization behind the long-running show.

The taping will take place in New York.

Wednesday will not be Biden’s first time working with Sesame Street; the first lady partnered with the Sesame Workshop in July to help advertise a new collection of resources for military families to assist in discussions regarding race and diversity.

She appeared in a video with Sesame Street character Rosita, who is Mexican American.

And in April, news surfaced that Biden would be a “special guest” on “Sesame Street: 50 Years of Sunny Days,” a documentary celebrating the children’s show.

Biden is a longtime educator who spent part of her first year as first lady working on initiatives geared toward children — especially getting young Americans vaccinated against COVID-19.

She has also focused on military family initiatives, an area that is important to the first family. President Biden’s son, Beau Biden, died in May 2015 after a battle with brain cancer. Beau Biden served in Iraq for a year.
