Paul: No call from Obama yet
Kentucky Sen.-elect Rand Paul (R) said Sunday that he hasn’t yet gotten a call from President Obama.
Paul was asked by CBS’ “Face the Nation” host Bob Schieffer about what Obama said on that call, as the White House had said the president had called nearly all incoming Republican lawmakers.
“He hasn’t got through to me yet … I haven’t heard that I’ve gotten a phone call,” Paul said, adding that his kids wanted to meet the Obama girls.
Paul said he would “love to speak with” Obama and tell him that the Tea Party would work with the other side of the aisle.
“I want to be one of those who is part of the debate about how to fix this country,” Paul said. “I want to expand the private sector … I want to shrink the ineffective sector of the economy, which is the government.”
