I’m a senior political correspondent at The Hill, where I cover national politics.
I’m also the co-author of four political books, including the No. 1 New York Times best-seller “FIGHT: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House,” which was published by Morrow/HarperCollins in 2025.
I am also the co-author of the No. 1 New York Times bestseller “Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign” and “HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton,” which is also a New York Times best-seller, as well as “Lucky: How Joe Biden Barely Won the Presidency,” all published by Crown/Random House.
I was a CNN Political Analyst during the Trump administration, and I’ve also appeared on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” NBC’s “Meet the Press,” ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “CBS This Morning.”
I’m a native Miamian, but I’ve been on the political scene in DC since 2005, covering Congress, three administrations, and five presidential campaigns. In addition to nearly twelve years at The Hill, I also worked as a staff writer at Politico. Prior to that, I covered the Florida delegation for Scripps Howard News Service.
Before delving into politics, I worked as a staff writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer and was an intern and stringer at The New York Times. During my time at the NYT, I covered the 2000 presidential recount so I can tell you all about hanging and pregnant chads.
