I am a Congressional reporter for The Hill, focusing on House leadership and Republican politics in the lower chamber.
I also author The Movement, a weekly newsletter for The Hill about the influences and debates shaping politics on the right — from elected Republicans in Washington to the conservative organizations and coalitions pushing them.
At The Hill, I closely covered the historic 15-ballot election of Speaker Kevin McCarthy and the three-week turmoil that followed his ouster, culminating in Speaker Mike Johnson taking the gavel.
Before joining The Hill in 2022, I covered Congress and campaigns at the Washington Examiner, traveling across the country to cover the 2020 Democratic presidential primary.
I was born and raised in Albuqueque, N.M., and graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in political science.
