Friday’s meeting announcements: Chinese plywood gets trade commission review

A handful of federal advisory boards will announce new meetings on Friday. Here’s a peek into the Federal Register:

On Nov. 5, the International Trade Commission is meeting in Washington to vote on imports of plywood from China. 

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is sending officials to a Nov. 6 and 7 meeting on electric reliability in Atlanta. 

The board of directors for the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation is holding a teleconference on Nov. 7 to talk about grant policies and get a budget update.

The Environmental Protection Agency’s advisory committee for protecting children’s health is meeting on Nov. 13 and 14 at the National Archives in Washington. 

The Chemical Safety Board is meeting in Rockford, Ill., on Nov. 14 to discuss a 2009 explosion at a manufacturing plant in Belvidere, Ill. 

On Nov. 14 and 15, a panel on academic affiliations at the Department of Veterans Affairs is meeting to discuss care teams and patient safety. 

The Interior Department’s council on wildfires is meeting on Nov. 15 in Washington to develop recommendations for the Obama administration. 

Regulators for fishing in the South Atlantic will meet on Nov. 18 and 19 to discuss wahoo fish and snapper. Regulators for New England fishing are meeting in Newport, R.I., on Nov. 18 and 20 to talk about groundfish oversight and other actions affecting fisheries. 

A Department of Homeland Security advisory council on infrastructure is meeting on the afternoon of Nov. 21 in Arlington, Va.

The Food and Drug Administration is holding a meeting on Dec. 6 to determine if any new regulations need to be issued for medical gases.
