Bush to headline RNC event in March

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), who is considering a presidential run in 2016, will speak at a spring gathering of major Republican donors, the Washington Examiner reported Wednesday.

Bush will address the Republican National Committee’s spring retreat for donors to the Republican Majority Fund, a fundraising committee that has supported GOP Senate campaigns. The event is being held March 20-22 in Boca Raton, Fla.

{mosads}Other speakers will include freshman Sens. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), the Examiner reported.

Despite his status as a possible candidate Republican nomination for president in 2016, Bush skipped the RNC’s winter meeting in San Diego to attend fundraisers in Southern California.

Bush announced in December that he was considering a presidential bid. Since then, he has been raising his profile and courting donors. He is under some pressure: With 2012 nominee Mitt Romney weighing a run, the two men may have to battle for establishment advisers and donors.
