Hillary Clinton’s campaign on Friday reported a tremendous fourth-quarter fundraising haul, saying it pulled in $37 million in funds supporting her bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.
{mosads}That brings her total funds from 2015 to $112 million, smashing through the goal her campaign set of raising $100 million.
Clinton’s campaign said that with the fundraising boost her campaign had nearly $38 million in the bank a month out from the Iowa caucuses on Feb. 1.
Her campaign also said that it raised $18 million for the Democratic National Committee and state Democratic parties across the country.
By comparison, top fourth-quarter GOP fundraiser Ben Carson brought in $23 million in the last three months of 2015 while Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) reported raising nearly $20 million.
“Thanks to the hundreds of thousands of Americans who have joined together and powered this historic campaign, we are now heading into Iowa and New Hampshire with the resources we need to be successful,” Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook said in a statement.
Clinton’s nearest competitor for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), has yet to announce his totals for the quarter, but he has emphasized grassroots efforts and small donations from more contributors.
Sanders has already received over 1 million donations in the fourth quarter, well above a similar pace that earned him $26 million in the third.
