Clinton: ‘I’m not going to quit’ on New Hampshire

Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton pledged Friday night to compete for a win in the New Hampshire, despite lagging behind rival Bernie Sanders in the polls.

“Some people have looked at the polls that show Sen. Sanders with a big lead here and suggest that’s a fact and suggested that I should just look past New Hampshire and focus on the next state,” she said in a speech at the McIntrye-Shaheen 100 Club Celebration, according to a Mass Live report.

{mosads}”Well, New Hampshire’s never quit on me and I’m not going to quit on you.”

“Let me be clear,” she said. “I never gave up on the dream of universal health care — not for a second — and 8 million kids was certainly not everything I wanted, but it was real and I couldn’t bear the thought that we would leave children without healthcare even a single day longer than we had to.”

The former secretary of State also told the crowd that despite her differences with Sanders, “the real goal here is to defeat the Republicans.”
