Cruz takes down ad featuring soft-core porn actress

Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) presidential campaign has pulled an ad after discovering that one of the actresses in it has been in several soft-core porn films, according to BuzzFeed.

According to the report, actress Amy Lindsay has appeared in films including “Erotic Confessions,” “Carnal Wishes” and “Secrets of a Chambermaid.”

{mosads}The Cruz ad, called “Conservatives Anonymous,” shows a support group of Republican voters, and one talks about how he feels betrayed by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a rival presidential candidate.

Lindsay, playing another member of the group responds by saying, “Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time.”

A Cruz spokesman confirmed to BuzzFeed that the campaign would take the ad down and denied knowing anything about Lindsay’s background.

“The actress responded to an open casting call. She passed her audition and got the job. Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the production company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad,” spokesman Rick Tyler said.

The actress had initially told BuzzFeed that the campaign was aware of her acting experience but then later backtracked.

“I have clearly talked to the filmmakers and stuff and just to be clear, I assumed that they knew but none of the filmmakers or the casting director knew about my complete filmography in the past that you’re talking about, so I was wrong in that statement,” Lindsay said.
