Trump: If I’m not the nominee, GOP will lose

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Wednesday said the GOP will regret it if he loses the party’s nomination in a contested convention.

“They’re going to lose, and then you’re going to have four Supreme Court justices that they’re not going to like,” Trump said during an MSNBC town hall set to air later Wednesday.

{mosads}Trump said he hopes the GOP will be “fair” to him.

“If they’re going to be fair, they’re going to happy,” he said.

“How can they give up millions of people that really feel disenfranchised?”

Host Chris Matthews responded that “they don’t like you, they don’t want you to be the nominee.”

“Well that’s true,” Trump acknowledged, adding that the GOP will lose in the general election if he is not the nominee.

He declined to say what he would do if he was denied the nomination.

“I can’t tell you what I’m going to do yet, because I’m not sure I know. I have to see,” he said.

Trump touted his poll numbers and his lead among delegates so far in the race, and predicted he would get enough delegates to clinch the nomination.

“We’re way, way up in votes, way, way up. If we’re a little bit short, I think it’s a very unfair process,” he said.

“I think I’m going to beat the 1,237.”
