Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has won the support of a Minnesota superdelegate, The Associated Press reported Sunday.
Rep. Rick Nolan said he will support the Vermont senator at the Democratic National Convention in July.
{mosads}Nolan said he thought about “the will” of Minnesota caucus attendees and Sanders’s message when deciding whom he would support at the convention.
Sanders won the Minnesota caucus last month by a large margin over rival Hillary Clinton, 61.6 percent to 38.4 percent.
Clinton has a large lead over Sanders in superdelegates. She has 469, compared to Sanders’s 31, according to AP.
Sanders last week won the support of Wisconsin superdelegate and state Rep. David Bowen after winning the state’s primary.
In a statement, Bowen wrote that the voters in Wisconsin decided “they desire the political revolution Bernie Sanders speaks about.”
“I want to ensure our members’ voices are respected to ensure our Party is as strong as possible by the November election,” he wrote in a statement on his Facebook page.
Sanders extended his winning streak Saturday in Wyoming. He has won seven of the past eight state contests and is hoping his success will help him garner the support of more superdelegates.
