Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz on Friday released a video attacking rival Donald Trump for his opposition to North Carolina’s controversial bathroom law.
The short clip shows images of a public restroom and a little girl, with ominous music playing in the background.
{mosads}“Should a grown man pretending to be a woman be allowed to use the women’s restroom?” a caption reads. “The same restroom used by your daughter? Your wife?”
The video then cuts to a clip of Trump making his case against the law, which segregates bathrooms by biological gender.
“People go, they use the bathroom they feel is appropriate,” the businessman says.
“It’s not appropriate. It’s not safe,” the video concludes. “It’s PC nonsense that’s destroying America. Donald Trump won’t take on the PC police. He’s one of them.”
The clip is sure to spark outrage among supporters of LGBT rights, who have condemned the North Carolina law, implemented on March 26, as being discriminiatory toward transgender people.
