Judge tentatively allows Trump University suit to move forward
A federal judge tentatively ruled that a lawsuit against Donald Trump’s defunct real estate education program Trump University can move forward.
{mosads}Judge Gonzalo Curiel said at a Friday hearing that he will likely reject efforts by Trump’s lawyers to have the case dismissed, Reuters reported.
He will offer a definitive ruling in the coming weeks.
The lawsuit, which is seeking class-action status, accuses Trump University of scamming them out of up to $35,000 for its courses.
Curiel has set a trial date for late November.
Curiel has come under heavy attack by Trump, who faced backlash after accusing the judge of bias because of his Mexican descent.
