Hillary Clinton’s lead over Donald Trump in battleground New Hampshire has narrowed to just 4 points, according to a Monmouth University poll released Wednesday.
{mosads}The Democratic presidential nominee claims 46 percent of the Granite State’s likely voters, while Republican Trump gets 42 percent. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson lands in a distant third with 7 percent.
According to RealClearPolitics, Clinton has been averaging a lead of 8 points in recent New Hampshire polls.
The Wednesday survey also shows that Sen. Kelly Ayotte, one of the most vulnerable Republicans up for reelection this cycle, is tied with her Democratic challenger, Gov. Maggie Hassan, at 46 percent.
RealClearPolitics also shows that the race for Ayotte’s seat is in a dead heat, with Hassan averaging a 0.8 point lead.
The Senate campaign is feeling some reverberations from the presidential race. Twenty-nine percent say that Ayotte has been too supportive of Trump, while 24 percent think she has not been supportive enough.
Clinton’s standing in the polls is buoyed by her 25-point lead among women and her 22-point lead among voters with a college degree.
Trump, meanwhile, leads by 20 points among men and 15 points among voters without a college degree.
The poll surveyed 401 likely voters from Oct. 22-25. It has a margin of error of 4.9 points.
