Poll: Most Americans don’t want to talk politics during Thanksgiving dinner
Most Americans don’t want to talk politics at their Thanksgiving dinner tables following a brutal presidential campaign this year, according to a new poll.
{mosads}More than half of the respondents in a CNN/ORC poll, 53 percent, say they want to avoid the topic. Forty-three percent, meanwhile, said they would be happy to mix politics with their meal.
Pollsters found a split along party lines – 58 percent of Republicans would be happy to talk politics over turkey, while 63 percent of Democrats want to avoid the topic.
Sixty percent, however, said it is at least somewhat likely the topic would come up.
Only 5 percent of respondents said they are most thankful for a political outcome or a political leader this year, while only 4 percent said they are most thankful Trump won.
