Alt-right leader’s book hits No. 1 on Amazon

A forthcoming book from controversial alt-right figure Milo Yiannopoulos has snagged the top spot on Amazon a day after the $250,000 book deal was announced.

Yiannopoulos’s “Dangerous,” due out in March, was the No. 1 ranked book Friday on Amazon’s list of best sellers.

The title of the 320-page book is an apparent play on his campus speaking tour. Pre-orders for the book on Amazon pushed it to the top spot by Friday afternoon.

“They said banning me from Twitter would finish me off. Just as I predicted, the opposite has happened,” Yiannopoulos told The Hollywood Reporter.

Yiannopoulos was permanently banned from Twitter earlier this year after he directed attacks at “Saturday Night Live” and “Ghostbusters” actress Leslie Jones, including posting fraudulent tweets he claimed came from Jones and calling her a “black dude.”

The alt-right leader was an editor at the right-wing Breitbart website and a self-described “supervillain of the internet.” He has been criticized for using his large Twitter following to incite people against others and troll the public.

The book, which will be published by Simon & Schuster’s Threshold Editions imprint, will in part detail his July ban from the social media platform.

“I met with top execs at Simon & Schuster earlier in the year and spent half an hour trying to shock them with lewd jokes and outrageous opinions. I thought they were going to have me escorted from the building — but instead they offered me a wheelbarrow full of money,” Yiannopoulos said.

“Every line of attack the forces of political correctness try on me fails pathetically. I’m more powerful, more influential, and more fabulous than ever before and this book is the moment Milo goes mainstream. Social justice warriors should be scared — very scared.”
