Huckabee ad compares DC to strip club

To Mike Huckabee, Washington, D.C., is a glorified strip club.

At least that’s the argument the Republican presidential candidate is making in a new online advertisement.

“Washington: It’s a strip club,” a narrator says in the ad, which shows crumpled dollar bills at the base of a silver pole.

{mosads}“The political class dances for the donor class, and the working class gets stuck with the tab.”

The video then shifts to Huckabee lamenting that Americans are tired of “corrupt Washington elites” and want to burn down the “Washington political machine.”

“No more leading from behind. No more losing. It’s time for America to win again,” he says.

The ad continues Huckabee’s embrace of the political outsider message benefitting three of his rivals. Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina have all never served in government but now hold on the top three spots in the race, according to a recent average of national polls by RealClearPolitics.

Text accompanying the ad on Huckabee’s website lays out the presidential hopeful’s plan of action to brunt the establishment’s power, including term limits for Congress and judges, a lifetime lobbying ban for lawmakers, and abolishing the IRS and the Department of Education.

Huckabee is polling at 8 percent, with 3 percent, according to RealClearPolitics.

The 2008 GOP presidential runner-up has typically had strong support from religious conservatives, but he has ceded much of that ground this year to Trump, Carson and Ted Cruz, who more than doubled Huckabee’s total to win the straw poll at last weekend’s Values Voter Summit.
