And don’t forget Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-Ind.) also faces a tough primary challenge from Tea Party favorite Kristi Risk (R) on Tuesday, plus there are presidential contests in Indiana, North Carolina and West Virginia.

Meanwhile, the White House is walking back Vice President Biden’s comments from his Sunday “Meet the Press” appearance. Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod, on a phone call with reporters Monday, tried to turn the issue into a comparison of Obama and Romney’s views, but ducked questions on whether Obama supports gay marriage.

“I have no update on the president’s personal views,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said at Monday’s press briefing, which was dominated by questions on the issue. “What the vice president said yesterday was to make the same point that the president has made previously, that committed and loving same-sex couples deserve the same rights and protections enjoyed by all Americans and that we oppose any effort to roll back those rights.”

TOMORROW’S AGENDA TODAY: Obama heads to State University of New York in Albany, N.Y., to talk about his plans for the economy. On Tuesday evening, he’ll give the keynote address at the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies’s annual gala.

Vice President Biden will deliver remarks at the Rabbinical Assembly’s annual convention in Atlanta at 10:45 a.m., and then head to Charleston, S.C., for a fundraiser.

And Mitt Romney will be campaigning in the swing state of Michigan.

Crowd gone wild: Romney’s campaign stop outside of Cleveland, Ohio, on Monday threatened to veer off message on a number occasions with supporters accusing Obama of treason and criticizing the president for taking credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden. [link]

No voters, no candidate: A town-hall meeting on gun rights hosted by Nebraska state Treasurer Don Stenberg, a GOP candidate for Senate, was scrapped when nobody showed up. [link]

Giffords’s special: Democrat Ron Barber, the aide to former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) running in the special election to replace her, touted the support of a seniors group. [link]

Susan for Sarah: The Susan B. Anthony List, a major anti-abortion-rights group, backed former Missouri Treasurer Sarah Steelman (R) over her two Republican opponents in the race to unseat Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.). [link]

AD WATCH:

The Obama campaign is spending $25 million on an ad buy this month that will target nine swing states, including Ohio and Florida.

In its response to the ad, Romney’s campaign criticized Obama’s economic record.

Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) is up with a new ad arguing he’s lived up to his 2006 campaign promise to commit to open government.

The AFL-CIO’s super-PAC began running its first round of ads to target Romney.
