The Democratic National Committee outraised the Republican National Committee in November despite a rough month for the party.
Despite the pounding Democrats took over ObamaCare’s rocky rollout in November, the DNC bested the RNC, bringing in $6.1 million to the RNC’s $5.2 million. That figure was boosted by President Obama, who held seven fundraisers for the DNC during November.
{mosads}The RNC remains in better financial standing overall, however. It has $7.8 million in the bank and carries no debt, while the DNC has $5.2 million in the bank and a whopping $15.6 million in debt still remaining from the 2012 election cycle.
The DNC has struggled to pay down the $21 million in debt it carried at the beginning of 2013. That could hurt efforts to stay ahead of the GOP’s ground game operation, which Republicans have been focused on improving after a 2012 campaign that showed their weakness in get-out-the-vote efforts.
The other major Democratic committees continued their pattern of outraising their GOP counterparts last month: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee bested the National Republican Congressional Committee, while the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee beat out the National Republican Senatorial Committee in November.
