Trump: ‘I’ll be a unifier’
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says if he’s elected president, people will be surprised by how “nice” he is.
“I am a nice person, but I think the thing that will surprise people, I’ll be a unifier,” Trump told ABC’s 20/20 in an interview airing Friday evening.
{mosads}“I think I’ll bring people together, and that includes blacks and whites and everything,” he added. “I think people will come together.”
The billionaire business mogul had publicly flirted with a presidential run several times in his life, but he said 2012 was the first time he ever seriously considered it.
“The time I really thought about it [running for president] was last time when Mitt Romney ran, and he ran and I decided not to do it,” Trump told interviewer Barbara Walters.
He noted that he had a series of obligations — including his television show “The Apprentice” and buildings under construction — that would have made a 2012 run difficult, but added that the timing is much better this presidential cycle.
“Now, I’m perfect,” Trump continued. “It’s perfect, although I gave up two season of ‘The Apprentice’ to do it.”
