Google: More New Yorkers looking up how to vote for Sanders than Clinton

If New York’s Democratic presidential primary were being decided on the basis of Google searches, Bernie Sanders would be the runaway favorite.

According to the search company, search interest in the Vermont senator has spiked in the last 24 hours, outpacing rival Hillary Clinton in the run-up to Tuesday’s critical contest.

Sixty-two percent of all searches for Democratic candidates in New York were for Sanders, and 38 percent of New Yorkers searched for Clinton.

Additionally, more people searched “How to vote for Bernie Sanders” in the last 24 hours than made similar searches about Clinton, according to Google.

Despite the sudden surge in Sanders queries, polling continues to predict a double-digit victory for the former New York senator.

The latest RealClearPolitics average of New York polls shows Clinton with an 11.7 point edge.
