Trump fundraises off ‘liberal media’ attacks

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is looking to turn his beef with the media into campaign dollars.

The Trump campaign sent out a fundraising email from his son, Donald Trump, Jr., on Thursday asking for money to help beat back the “lies and spin” from the “liberal media.”

{mosads}“My father has been a target from day one because they know he’s strong enough to stand up to them and put the American people first,” the email says. “But the depth of their bias and dishonesty now is beyond anything we’ve ever seen before. Since Mrs. [Hillary] Clinton’s coronation in Philadelphia, it has been a constant barrage.”

The fundraising appeal sets a goal of raising $7 million over the next seven days.

Trump proved last month that he can be a successful small-dollar fundraiser, hauling in more than $80 million with an average donation of $62.

The Trump campaign has clashed with the media throughout his presidential run.

The campaign has barred several outlets from covering his events and this month began sending out a daily “Media Bias Offender” email to highlight outlets it believes have been unfair.
