Occupy protesters prepare to disrupt Romney rally

{mosads}Protesters from the Occupy Wall Street movement and its various offshoots have become a staple of Romney campaign events, and the candidate has learned to remain unfazed. Romney typically segues without missing a beat into an affirmation of the First Amendment right to free speech and the value of living in a nation where protest is permitted.

But he hasn’t always kept his cool. Accused by an Occupy protester of being among the “1 percent” at an event in Charleston, S.C. last week, Romney fought back.

“Those who try and divide the nation, as you’re trying to do here and as our President is doing, are hurting this country,” Romney said, according to ABC News”America’s right and you’re wrong.”

And at a rally earlier in the month in Exeter, N.H. with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), a prominent Romney surrogate, one protester got more than just an escort out of the rally by the security team.

When a woman shouted “Christie kills jobs” — an encore to the “Mitt kills jobs” slogan that Occupy protesters have adopted, the brash-talking governor shot right back.

“Really?” Christie said. “You know, somebody’s going down tonight, and it ain’t going to be jobs, sweetheart.”
