Bachmann: Report that she panned Gingrich false

“The Bachmann for President campaign has not issued an official statement regarding an endorsement of any current candidate in the GOP race ahead of the South Carolina primary,” Stewart said. “Any information found to the contrary is inaccurate.”

Bachmann’s campaign did not speculate on where the statement came from.

“He lacks the poise, experience and moral fiber to represent our principles and values,” the statement read. “That candidate is Newt Gingrich.”

On Thursday, Gingrich received Rick Perry’s endorsement during a press conference where the Texas governor announced he had dropped out of the presidential race.
