SC lawmaker to endorse Cruz: report
Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) is expected to back Republican Ted Cruz for president, a source with knowledge of the situation told The State.
The endorsement will come when Cruz makes a campaign stop in the South Carolina lawmaker’s home district Tuesday, a day after the Iowa caucuses, according to the report.
{mosads}Cruz and fellow Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson addressed Duncan’s annual Faith & Freedom BBQ last year.
A member of the right-wing House Freedom Caucus, Duncan was elected in 2010 as a part of the Tea Party wave.
He marks Cruz’s 19th congressional endorsement of the cycle.
