Trump campaign hails decision not to press charges against Lewandowski
The Trump campaign on Thursday hailed the decision by Florida prosecutors not to file charges against campaign manager Corey Lewandowski for grabbing former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields.
{mosads}“Corey Lewandowski is gratified by the decision to drop the misdemeanor charge and appreciates the thoughtful consideration and professionalism by the Palm Beach State Attorney and his staff who carefully reviewed this matter, as well as Mr. Trump’s loyalty and the support of his colleagues and family during this time. The matter is now concluded,” the campaign said in a statement.
But Donald Trump’s team may not be out of legal trouble just yet. Fields is reportedly looking into pressing defamation charges against both Lewandowski and the presidential contender, who accused her of lying about the incident.
She filed a criminal complaint against Lewandowski last month.
