DCCC hits House Republicans for going on recess

{mosads}”You work hard, so you deserve the same from your congressman. But did you know Congressman Southerland is on a five-week, taxpayer-funded vacation instead of working to create jobs? Tell Congressman Southerland to get his priorities straight,” says one version of the ad.

DCCC spokeswoman Emily Bittner claims Democrats would have preferred to stay in town and keep working rather than head out until Labor Day.

“House Democrats repeatedly asked House Republicans to stay and work together on solutions to issues like jobs, comprehensive immigration reform, a balanced approach to reducing the deficit and a transportation bill, but House Republicans refused to cooperate and left for vacation instead,” she said.

The targets: GOP Reps. Dan Benishek (Mich.), Kevin Cramer (N.D.), Steve Daines (Mont.), Sean Duffy (Wis.), John Fleming (La.), Joe Heck (Nev.), Lynn Jenkins (Kan.), Bill Johnson (Ohio), David Joyce (Ohio), Steve King (Iowa), Gary Miller (Calif.), Steve Pearce (N.M.), Scott Rigell (Va.), Steve Southerland (Fla.), Glenn Thompson (Pa.), Michael Turner (Ohio), Kevin Yoder (Kan.) and Bill Young (Fla.). Heck, Joyce, Miller and Southerland are top Democratic targets this cycle.
