DCCC ad tweaked to remove plane in front of New York City skyline

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee tweaked an ad running against Republican Bob Turner in New York’s special election to remove an image of a plane flying in front of New York City’s skyline.

{mosads}The ad is running over the weekend of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, although it will not air on the day itself, in a district that encompasses Queens and Brooklyn.

The original ad, which had yet to air on television, was quietly pulled off of YouTube and replaced with the ad below.

The DCCC is trying to hold a Democratic-leaning seat that was left open when Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) resigned from Congress. Republicans have made the race more competitive than most initially anticipated it would be.
