Allen West’s PAC makes first endorsements of the cycle

{mosads}The Allen West Guardian Fund endorsed Mia Love, who is challenging Rep. Jim Matheson (D-Utah); Dan Bongino, who is challenging Rep. John Delaney (D-Md.); Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), who is running for Senate in Arkansas; and E.W. Jackson, who is running for lieutenant governor in Virginia.

The endorsements all come with a contribution of $5,000 from the PAC. West’s PAC will make 10 more endorsements this cycle.

West was defeated in one of the nation’s closest and most expensive contests last election cycle, but the conservative leader has not disappeared from the spotlight.

He’s a frequent commentator on national television and is expected to engage in the 2014 cycle through his PAC and a nonprofit he founded.

The PAC was created to support candidates who fit his own profile — conservative military veterans and minority candidates.

“When you see the results of poor strategic military decisions from our elected leaders, it’s quite obvious we need more people in Washington who have served in uniform,” West said in a statement.

He added that minorities, “who can benefit most from conservative policies” are underrepresented in Congress.
