The House Majority PAC is launching its third ad to shore up Rep. Nick Rahall (D-W.Va.), who’s facing one of the toughest campaigns of his career.
{mosads}The ad features a West Virginia coal-mining family warning “we both could get hurt” if Rahall’s opponent, West Virginia state Rep. Evan Jenkins (R), wins the race.
The super-PAC, which backs House Democrats, is putting $60,000 to put the new ad on TV and keep another running through next week.
Rahall has been in Congress four almost four decades with few tough election battles. But voting in his coal-heavy Appalachian district has moved heavily toward the GOP at the national level in the last decade, and Republicans are bullish about Jenkins, a former Democrat who switched parties to challenge Rahall.
