Rep. Clay releases first radio ad in member-vs.-member match-up
Obama has not endorsed in the race.

The newly drawn 1st district maintains more of Clay’s original area than Carnahan’s, making Clay the favorite in the race. Carnahan had the option of challenging Clay or running in an open district that was more GOP-leaning. In late February he filed to run against Clay.
Both men are from prominent Missouri families — Clay is the son of former Rep. Bill Clay (D-Mo.), who represented the area for years. Carnahan is the son of the late Gov. Mel Carnahan and former Sen. Jean Carnahan (D-Mo.).
