NRCC pulls in $5.3M, outraised by DCCC

{mosads}The two committees both saw an uptick in fundraising heading into this month’s government shutdown — the DCCC nearly tripled what it raised in August, while the NRCC nearly doubled its total.

But the disparity in total fundraising is the latest sign that the shutdown hurt Republicans and fired up the Democratic base heading into 2014. According to the DCCC, it raised $2 million in the six days following Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) filibuster of a bill to keep the government open.

The NRCC now has $15.7 million cash on hand, while the DCCC has $21.6 million in the bank.
