President Trump voiced his support for Republican Karen Handel in a tweet Monday ahead of Tuesday’s highly competitive special election in Georgia’s sixth congressional district.
“The Dems want to stop tax cuts, good healthcare and Border Security,” the president tweeted.
{mosads}The race, which has been viewed as a potential referendum on Trump’s presidency, is the most expensive race in House history.
The president’s tweet comes as Handel and her Democratic opponent, Jon Ossoff, remain nearly deadlocked in polls ahead of the election for Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price’s former seat.
A recent WSB-Landmark Communications poll shows Ossoff leading Handel by less than two points.
