{mosads}The poll’s finding comes as both the Obama campaign and Romney campaign are holding a number of speeches in Ohio and the surrounding Midwestern states over the next week.
Right around the time the Ohio poll was released, the Romney campaign announced a number of campaign events in the Buckeye State on Wednesday.
This most recent CNN/Opinion Research poll will be welcome news for the Obama campaign after a disappointing performance at the first presidential debate last week and a recent poll by Pew Research that found Romney holding a 4-percentage-point lead nationally.
The poll was conducted among 1,020 participants from Oct. 5 to Oct. 8. It had a total sampling margin of error of 3 percentage points.
