Hillary, traveling light, marches in NY parade

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton marched in the Memorial Day parade in Chappaqua, N.Y., on Monday.

According to pictures posted online, Clinton marched and met with residents of the suburban hamlet, which lies about 25 miles north of New York City.

{mosads}Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, did not attend the annual event because he was in Sweden, according to BuzzFeed reporter Ruby Cramer. The former New York senator was apparently accompanied by just one security officer, not the usual team of aides or security personnel.

Clinton, wearing an American flag scarf, dark sunglasses and a sunhat, also found time to chat with Rob Astorino, a Republican looking to take on Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) who was also in Monday’s parade. In a picture he posted on Twitter, the two seemed friendly and were surrounded by a handful of photographers and locals taking pictures on their cellphones.

The Clintons own a large farmhouse in Chappaqua and have been regulars at the annual holiday parade in recent years.
