Cantor, Bush teaming up on fundraiser
Former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and potential Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush (R-Fla.) will co-host a fundraiser on behalf of the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) later this month.
Breitbart News is reporting that Cantor and Bush will headline the event, which will cost donors between $5,000 and $25,000 each, to support the RSLC, an outside group that works to elect conservative candidates.
“They are raising money together for the RSLC, a group both strongly support,” Bush spokeswoman Kristy Campbell told Breitbart News. “Congressman Cantor and Governor Bush are friends and have known each other for years.”
Cantor was the victim of a stunning upset defeat in his Republican primary in June, when he fell to now-Rep. Dave Brat (R-Va.).
Soon after, Cantor stepped down from his post as majority leader and resigned from office.
He has since joined the global investment bank Moelis & Co. as vice chairman and managing director.
