Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-La.) snagged the endorsement Monday of “Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson.

Robertson serves as the CEO of Duck Commander, the duck call company spotlighted in the A&E reality show “Duck Dynasty. He told Fox News Radio that, if the governor decides to jump into the race for the White House, Jindal would be his pick.

“That guy is one of the smartest guys I’ve ever met in my life, and he’s run things, he’s run the state of Louisiana even at a young age,” Robertson said.

{mosads}“He’s got the values. I think he’s got the intelligence to do it. I’d love to see him run, and I’d love for him to get into the mix.”

Jindal has floated the possibility of joining the GOP presidential field, which currently includes Sens. Ted Cruz (Texas), Rand Paul (Ky.) and Marco Rubio (Fla.). But he’s said he wouldn’t make a decision until Louisiana’s legislative session ends in June.

The Robertsons have waded into politics before, hosting the Louisiana governor as a guest star on a 2014 episode of “Duck Dynasty.

Willie’s father, Phil Robertson, received a free speech award at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) earlier this year. Phil had been briefly suspended by A&E for calling homosexuality “sinful” in an interview. After backlash from the public and conservative politicians, he was reinstated.

Phil Robertson, the “Duck Dynasty” patriarch, gave a long-winded speech at CPAC that blamed “hippies” for sexually transmitted diseases.
