Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign chairman said on Sunday that no politician had more unchanging core values than the Democratic frontrunner.

{mosads}John Podesta said Clinton has always fought for economic prosperity and social justice for everyday Americans.

“I don’t think there’s ever been anyone more consistent in their entire career,” Podesta told host Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“She’s made her values clear, her priorities clear,” he added, citing her work on behalf of families, minorities and women.

Podesta noted Clinton’s change of heart on same-sex marriage as an example of her commitment to helping the underserved.

She had evolved on that issue, he said, to better champion a segment of Americans deserving more support.

“Times change,” Podesta said of gay marriage. “The country has shifted. This isn’t 1992, it’s not 2008, but it is 2015.”

“She’s projecting into the future on what the country needs,” he added.

Podesta also dismissed criticism that Clinton had recently hidden her position on President Obama’s divisive trade agenda.

House Democrats on Friday rebelled against the president by voting against some of his proposed trading legislation.

“She has been very clear about where she stands on trade,” Podesta said of Clinton.

“She has laid out a two-pronged test for validating trade agreements,” he said.

“First, does it grow jobs and grow wages?” he asked. “Second, does it protect our national security?”

“The agreement is not final,” Podesta added. “When it is final, she’ll render a judgment on that.”

“There’s no tougher negotiator with either our trading partners or Republicans in Congress than Hillary Clinton if she’s elected to office.”
