Republican presidential candidates mentioned the Clintons more than they mentioned Donald Trump during the first presidential debate.
An early tally put the number of times the Clintons or Hillary Clinton were mentioned at 21, about the same number of times that the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) was mentioned.
{mosads}Donald Trump, the GOP front-runner, was mentioned about 17 times during the debate.
President Obama was mentioned about 13 times, significantly more than the six times that former President Ronald Reagan came up.
“I’ve evolved on many issues over the years. And you know who else has? Is Ronald Reagan evolved on many issues,” Trump said during the debate, defending his record.
Planned Parenthood was mentioned three times. Republicans are seeking to defund the agency after a series of controversial videos leaked about its fetal tissue programs.
Surprisingly, none of the candidates at the prime-time debate mentioned Benghazi, despite the widespread GOP criticism of Clinton related to the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on a U.S. compound in Libya.
They referenced cybersecurity six times and ObamaCare seven times during the debate.
“Get rid of ObamaCare and replace it with something that doesn’t suppress wages and kill jobs,” said former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
