Cuban: Trump ‘opens the door’ for wealthy outsiders

Self-made billionaire Mark Cuban said on Monday that GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s popularity shows business tycoons they can “absolutely” compete for the White House, according to Politico.

{mosads}“I love the fact that he has changed the game,” Cuban told the news outlet, referring to Trump.

“The idea of imperfect candidates with forceful ideas opens the door for a lot of people that would not have previously run,” the Dallas Mavericks owner added.

Cuban argued on Monday that he would pursue a different vision of America than the one Trump is preaching on the campaign trail if he ever seeks public office.

“My positions would be far different,” Cuban told Politico.

His remarks follow his repeated praise of Trump earlier this summer.

The NBA mogul and film producer admitted on Monday he has trouble envisioning a place in any hypothetical Trump administration.

“[Only] if he promises to do exactly what I tell him to do,” Cuban said when asked of a role in Trump’s possible White House, according to Politico. “Otherwise, it’s highly unlikely.”

Trump’s rally Monday evening in Dallas has run out of tickets following overwhelming demand for his appearance there. He plans on speaking at the American Airlines Center, home of the Mavericks and with a capacity of approximately 20,000 people.

“Our arena is amazing and his checks will clear,” Cuban quipped of the GOP front-runner’s visit.
