Wasserman Schultz blasts Trump’s ‘offensive rhetoric’
Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz blasted Donald Trump’s new radio ads days after he labeled her a “terrible person.”
“The release of Donald Trump’s radio ads today make it clear a Trump presidency would be a bad investment for America and the middle class,” the Florida congresswoman said in a statement released by the DNC Thursday afternoon.
{mosads}”He hasn’t got a clue when it comes to the struggles everyday Americans face, and he’s the last person equipped to help them.”
She labeled the Republican presidential candidate’s “offensive rhetoric” and “harmful policies” as “emblematic of the entire Republican field’s obsession with moving America backward to policies that failed under past Republican administrations.”
And Wasserman Schultz particularly took issue with the content of his radio spots, which explain his biography and summarize his stances on issues in the race.
“The ads also don’t answer serious questions about the myth that Donald Trump is a successful businessman who would be able to run the country’s economy,” she said, adding that Trump said he took a “small” $1 million loan from his family as he started his business career.
“Trump just doesn’t understand these avenues aren’t available to countless Americans who are working day in and day out to afford a mortgage payment, or the cost of college for their families.”
The real estate magnate stepped up his attacks on Wasserman Schultz this week, calling her a “terrible person” and “highly neurotic” during an interview on SiriusXM.
