Carson: ‘No question’ he’s being targeted by ‘biased media’

GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson said in an interview Sunday that “there’s no question” he is being targeted by “biased media.”

{mosads}“People are seeing through exactly what’s going on, and they’re getting fired up,” Carson said on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” explaining the $3.5 million his campaign raised last week. “It’s almost an us versus them thing.”

“Every place I go, you know, I go to a book signing, there’s a thousand people in line [who say] ‘please don’t let them get to you,’ ‘don’t give up,’ ‘we got your back,’ ‘we know what’s going on,’ ‘we believe you,’ ” he said.

Carson said voters “are actually waking up.”

“And you know America’s strength is its people. And I believe this is a very good sign.”

Carson also disputed recent critical media coverage during an appearance early Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”

“We tell the truth, we deal with the issues and, you know, we don’t — I’m not a politician, so you know, you’re not going to find me acting like a politician. I don’t do that,” he told host George Stephanopoulos.

“I am somebody who is clearly concerned about the direction of our nation and what is going to happen to us if we continue down this pathway,” he added. “And I am very hopeful that people in your business, the media, will slowly recognize the role that they play in helping to restore the American dream.”

Carson also said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that he is under “special scrutiny” because “a lot of people are very threatened.”

“You know, they’ve seen the recent head-to-head polling against Hillary [Clinton] and how well I do. And, you know, they’re worried. There is no question about it.

Carson claimed on Saturday that his campaign has pulled in $3.5 million in fundraising dollars this week thanks to “biased media” coverage.

“We the People have made 10,000 donations each day this week, raising $3.5M this week alone. Thank you biased media,” Carson tweeted.
